It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a pensive woman in possession of a restless mind must feel compelled to write.

...and that would be correct. At least, for me.

My origin story is like pretty much any other writer's: I was born with the unrelenting need to tell stories. I am forever intrigued by the human condition - what makes us good; what makes us bad - therefore you will find a full spectrum of universal experiences explored through my writing.

I am particularly interested in grief, mortality, death, hope, trauma, and empathy - the events and emotions that, as human beings, we will inevitably endure.

My stories, therefore, don't always make easy reads. I doubt very much that you will ever hear a story of mine described as a "beach read", but I'd consider my mission as a writer complete if I see them described as "important reads".

Stories are fundamental for our existence - for learning, growing, expression - and they are most effective when shared as widely as possible. I truly believe that aside from sustenance, the emergency services, and healthcare, there is nothing more important than the arts. Nothing else can help us access those parts of ourselves that we keep hidden from others, and even ourselves.

It's vital in an ever-expanding digital word that we keep human creativity exactly that: human.
